The 14th International conference Textile Science and Economy, in the organisation of Technical Faculty „Mihajlo Pupin“, University of Novi Sad will be held as hybrid conference meeting 25th October 2024. The conference gathers every year a number of participants who share their ideas and achievements in various fields of the textile and clothing industry. Last year, the conference was successfully held in hybrid form. There were 28 accepted papers from 11 countries. Recently, the textile sector has been facing a number of challenges due to changing trends on the market and new ways of doing business. For that reason, the main topic of the conference will be related to sustainability in the textile and clothing industry and the transition of this industry to zero carbon and zero waste. Connecting and cooperating on the basis of knowledge and experience represents a significant path towards sustainability and development of the textile and fashion industry. Through the presentation of the conference participants, it is planned to analyze the current situation in the textile industry, present new approaches related to textile materials, technologies and business models that will contribute to improving the solution of sustainability and business problems during the time of great changes in the world market. The organization of this conference aims to bring the academic community and the economy closer and to expand cooperation with other educational and scientific institutions and economic entities.

The 2024 WTUA Steering Board Meeting  welcomes the Sustainable Fashion and Textile Foundation (SFFT) as a supporting organization. SFFT, dedicated to fostering sustainability in the fashion and textile industries, brings invaluable expertise and resources to this prestigious event. Through collaborative efforts with WTUA, SFFT enhances the conference's focus on sustainability, offering insights, initiatives, and best practices to propel the industry towards a greener future. Together, WTUA and SFFT aim to inspire innovation, drive sustainable practices, and cultivate a global community committed to advancing the textile sector responsibly.

"Sustainability for All: Creating Inclusive Pathways to Development" is the theme of the 2023 World Textile University Alliance Conference. This agenda aims to explore how sustainable practices can be integrated across diverse sectors and communities to foster inclusive development. Attendees can expect engaging discussions, insightful presentations, and collaborative workshops focused on driving sustainability initiatives that benefit all stakeholders, paving the way for a more equitable and prosperous future.

In our seminar, we explored the transformative impact of sustainable fashion on contemporary lifestyles. Through insightful discussions and expert insights, we delved into how sustainable fashion is not merely a trend but a fundamental shift in consumer behavior and industry practices. From ethical sourcing to eco-friendly materials and circular fashion models, we showcased how sustainable fashion choices are influencing consumer preferences and shaping more conscientious lifestyles. Attendees gained a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness between fashion, sustainability, and lifestyle choices, paving the way for a more responsible and environmentally conscious future.

With diverse stakeholders, we explored innovative strategies to promote sustainability, eco-consciousness, and inclusivity within the fashion sector. Through collaborative efforts and insightful discussions, we aim to drive positive change towards a more responsible and equitable industry. The 12th International conference Textile Science and Economy, in the organisation of Technical Faculty „Mihajlo Pupin“, University of Novi Sad will be held on 10th December 2021. The conference gathers every year a number of participants that share their ideas and achievements in various fields of textile and clothing industry. Last year, the conference was successfully held online. There were 34 accepted papers from 13 countries. Our goal is to bring together various universities, institutes, companies and all those interested in these areas.

This 3 day virtual academic seminar invites experts and scholars in the fields of education, enterprise and design to share sustainable issues related to clothing and textiles and have further discussion with graduate students. Participants will share the current situation, development trends, related materials and technology of fashion sustainability, as well as traditional techniques and design innovations to provide references of sustainability in academic research and industry development, which is of great significant to promote the research and practice of sustainability globally.
